Cyberbullying Policy at Active Mindset International Academy

 

Introduction:

Active Mindset International Academy is committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for all students. We take cyberbullying very seriously and have zero tolerance for any form of online bullying or harassment. This policy sets out our approach to preventing and addressing cyberbullying in our online school.

 

Definition:

Cyberbullying is any form of online bullying or harassment, including but not limited to:

 

Sending abusive or threatening messages or emails

Posting or sharing offensive or hurtful content on social media or other online platforms

Creating fake profiles or impersonating others to bully or harass.

Spreading rumors or gossip online.

Excluding or ostracizing individuals online

Prevention:

Our online school is committed to preventing cyberbullying by:

  • Raising awareness among students, parents/carers, and staff about cyberbullying and its impact on individuals and the wider community.
  • Educating students about online safety and responsible online behavior, including how to recognize and report cyberbullying.
  • Providing students with clear guidelines and expectations for online behavior and consequences for violating these guidelines.
  • Encouraging a culture of respect, kindness, and empathy among students and staff.

 

Response:

If cyberbullying does occur, our online school will take the following steps to address it:


  • Investigate the incident promptly and thoroughly to determine the facts and identify those responsible.
  • Provide support and assistance to the victim, including counseling or other forms of emotional support.
  • Take appropriate disciplinary action against the perpetrator(s), which may include suspension or expulsion from the school. 
  • Work with parents/carers and other relevant parties to address the situation and prevent future incidents.
  • Report any serious incidents of cyberbullying to the relevant authorities, where appropriate.


Reporting:

Students, parents/carers, and staff are encouraged to report any incidents of cyberbullying to the school promptly. Reports can be made to a teacher, tutor, or other members of staff, or through our online reporting system. All reports will be treated confidentially, and the school will take appropriate action to investigate and address the incident.
